Margaret Saraswati

Margaret (Saraswati) Kruszewska founded and ran Yoginis Yogic Arts Studio in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles from 2001-2005. She received her training as yoga instructor, and the spiritual name of Saraswati, while in India at the Sivananda Center (Kerala) in 1990.
In 2006-2007, she co-founded and was sole content author for YogaHub, a yoga web site offering informative articles and reflective blog entries inspired by her 20 years of experience as yoga practitioner and teacher. Her writings are still featured on the site, although she is no longer affiliated with the business.

She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion of Asian and Comparative Studies and has presented her research on women in spiritual practices at the American Academy of Religion and as guest lecturer at Cal State Northridge, Claremont Graduate University, California Institute of Integral Studies and New College of California.

She is also a poet, director and playwright with New York and Los Angeles productions of her plays Daddy Meets Durga, MarX Daughter and MotherGhost. She is currently teaching Comparative Mythology and Religious Studies at Santa Rosa College and Research Methods at Sonoma State University.
